But applying the kind of make-up that literally transforms an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan will often require the services of a professional make-up artist. And this may cost a lot, not to mention impractical, especially for an ordinary wage-earner. Still, achieving movie-star looks can be possible even without the aid of professional make-up artists. The important thing is to start from the basics.

If you have the following beauty products, such as concealer, foundation, face powder, blush, lipstick, lip liner, lip gloss, eye shadow, and make-up brushes, getting the look that is professionally done becomes fairly easy. The first step requires a concealer. Dot some concealer over blemished spots or under eye circles. Blend it using a sponge or just your fingertips. Next, follow it up with a foundation that has the exact color as your skin tone. Blend it well, again using a sponge or your fingertips. Then top it off with a loose powder or pressed powder if you are away from home. The powder will set the foundation and concealer, keeping them on longer. Next, with the use of a brush, apply eyeshadow of the lightest shade on the area under your eyebrow. Choose the medium shade on the area where the crease appears. Then make a thin line along the upper lashes with the darkest shade. Next, liven up your cheeks with blush. Spread it lightly across your cheek using a brush or sponge. Do not use to much color – else, you will end up looking like a rag doll fresh from the factory! Finally, apply some lipstick and then line it up with a lip liner, and finishing it with a gloss.
